About CCA

The Cutteslowe Community Association (CCA) supports the local residents and aims to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for local people. It is non-party in politics and non-sectarian in religion. It aims to benefit Cutteslowe and the surrounding district.

Excerpt from the constitution

The objects of the Association are to:

(a) promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the area of benefit without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, nationality, age, disability, race or of political, religious or other opinions by associating together the said inhabitants and the statutory authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving conditions of life for the said inhabitants;

(b) establish, or to secure the establishment of, a Community Centre (hereinafter called “the Centre”) and to maintain and manage the same (whether alone or in co-operation with any statutory authority or other person or body) in furtherance of the above objects;

(c) promote such other charitable purposes as may from time to time be determined. The Association shall be non-party in politics and non-sectarian in religion. The area of benefit shall be Cutteslowe and the surrounding district.

Finance

CCA is financed primarily through donations and fund-raising activities. Oxford City Council owns the Community Centre and allows us to use the premises free of charge, but we receive no further direct support.

As the needs of the community change and evolve, our activities and services adapt in response.
